The Step 1 course also allows you to purchase 7 day extensions in the event that you need more time to finish the course. Each purchase provides the ability to have multiple attempts to complete a given lecture. This is so that you are free to stop/pause and return later as you need to, in order to fit in viewing the content to your schedule. Multiple attempts are also provided in the event that you have a network glitch or problem that prevents you from completing the viewing of a given lecture. Finally, the completion limit forces progression through the entire course to facilitate viewing within the allotted time. If you have circumstances that require more those are also available for purchase.

The video player control bar will disappear when no mouse movement is detected. Simply move your mouse cursor around in the video display window and the video player control bar will re-appear.
Make sure your browser has javascript enabled and you have a current version of the flash player.
The video player control bar has a small vertical bar that indicates the current location of the video player on the video timeline. You can click on this with your left mouse button and hold it down, and drag the slider to the left to go back in the video, or drag the slider to the right to go forward in the video.
Each time you login a session is created. When certain events occur, like a computer being turned off or sleeping, the session information is cleared for security reasons. Simply login again and resume the course on the video you need to watch.
Additional completions are available for purchase. Click ‘Purchase additional Course Items’ at the bottom of the course page. Then click the video you need to add a view to and purchase it.
You have used up all the allowed completions or time allotted on that particular lecture, or the course access time has expired. You can purchase additional lectures or a full course extension if you need to.
Our software does not prohibit this however we have found it counter-productive both in terms of the use of additional download bandwidth as well as the audio interference it initiates.
Click the course name or the small triangle to expand the listing.
A completion is a complete watching of a video lecture, which means you have viewed all of the video content for a given lecture. You are allowed to pause, backup, go forward, switch speeds or resolutions freely in order to facilitate a complete watching of a video. As you complete each video, your completion count is updated in the database accordingly.
We want to ensure that you get all the high-yield content from each video. Completions allow you to tell us when that occurs so we can move you to the next lecture.
The boxes are grayed out when you have used all the completions for a given video. When you have completions available, the background of the cell is white.
They show the completion status of each lecture using the following color code:
Yes. You can pause, go backward and forward by moving the player slider around in the video timeline as needed. You can also use the Back :30 button to automatically jump 30 seconds back in the video to pick up something you missed or want to repeat.
This screen is asking you to indicate that you are done with a previous video and ready to being the next one, thus making it active.
The table of contents cell for each video will show you the number of completions you have available for each lecture. If you have used up the number of completions, the status bar will be grayed out.
No. You can logout and login in as needed and your active video will remain active until you mark it as complete.
No, your video will only be marked as complete when you indicate as such. If you encounter network problems or other technical issues, you can continue watching your current active video once those are resolved.
We recommend for slow or congested networks to use the ‘low’ video option as it requires substantially less bandwidth.
Yes, on the video page, simply click the “1.5x” button and your player will automatically switch to the 1.5x normal speed player.
Yes, you can click back and forth between the different speeds by simply clicking on the desired speed button at the top of the video page.
You can use the “low resolution” version as this version uses substantially less bandwidth than the high quality version.
The video player will show a small spinning circle in the middle of the video screen when it is trying to download additional data to play from the video file. This usually happens when your network connection has been interrupted or the connection speed of your network is not high enough to keep up with the play rate of the video. This is called buffering. Normally, the video player will buffer for a few seconds and resume play of the video where it left off once the video player has downloaded the additional data.
This can happen when the connection speed/quality of your network connection fluctuates. This is more likely seen in WIFI network connections. You can try seeing if conditions improve on the network, or you can try using the low quality videos until the situation changes.
Video processing does require a definite amount of CPU and memory resources on your computer. We recommend that if you are having problems with choppy or jerky playback to shutdown other applications that may be running in order to free up additional memory and CPU. If memory or CPU are your issue, then the videos can appear choppy or jerky where they tend to stop and start frequently.
Each time you login a session is created. When certain events occur, like a computer being turned off or sleeping, the session information is cleared for security reasons. Simply login again and resume the course on the video you need to watch.
The process of creating the faster speed play version alters the sound of the audio slightly.
Sometimes this occurs due to a problem with the audio portion of the flash plugin for your browser. Exiting the browser and restarting it can clear this issue.
There are 2 ways to change the volume level, with the slider bar on the video control bar and with the volume control on your device. Make sure the volume is up on the video player control bar and then use the volume control on your device to increase the volume.
